About

What is Prism?

Campaigns are designed to persuade you. Prism is designed to inform you.

Tell us what issues matter to you. We'll show you which candidates' records match — and where they don't.

No party. No endorsements. No agenda.

Just your answers, their records, and how it all lines up.

Why did we build this?

Democracy works when voters can make real choices. That means having fair, honest information. It means having space to decide what you believe — based on your own life, not someone else's agenda.

Right now, that's not what most voters get.

Political campaigns are built to push your buttons. To make you feel afraid or angry before you've had a chance to think. That's not an accident. It's a strategy.

The information you need already exists. Every vote a candidate cast is public record. Every dollar they received is in a public filing. Most people just don't have the time or the tools to find it — and campaigns count on that.

Prism puts the record in one place, in plain language, before you vote.

How does it work?

Answer a short quiz about issues that matter to California. Weigh the ones you care about most. See your matches. Then dig deeper — read what each candidate said, what they actually did, and who paid for their campaign.

What does Prism not do?

Prism does not tell you who to vote for. That's your job.

Where does the information come from?

Every claim about a candidate links to a primary source:

No opposition research. No campaign ads. If we can't trace it to an original document, we don't publish it.

What version is this?

This is Prism's first public version, built for the June 2026 California Governor's primary. We're continuing to build through the fall general election.

Want to support Prism?

Prism is a work in progress. If you'd like to support what we're building — as a funder, researcher, or developer — we'd love to hear from you.
